2012-FACADES FX Projects

There's been a lot going on in the shop this year! We hit the ground running with the new year building some life-sized slave puppet rigs for the Alley Theatre's produciton of "TOXIC AVENGER THE MUSICAL".

Phil Nichols lectures to students at Texas A&M University.
In February we gave a lecture series at the tier one Texas A&M university and created an old age makeup for a production of "Prelude to a Kiss."  The old age makeup included the life casting process, sculpting, molding and foam latex prosthetic fabrication by Facades FX. A first time application and tutorial to the makeup crew of the finished work.

Next it was zombies, with another lecture and make-up demo at another tier one school, Rice University.
We gave a lecture on SFX makeup, and applied one of the creepy features Rotten Zombies characters, and gave pointers to the makeup class there as they created their own zombie faces.

Actor Rutherford Cravens poses with his severed head.
We just completed work on some SFX props and prosthetics for a production of RICHARD III being performed at Houston's Mainstreet Theatre, but this summer is going to Prague. For this project we created a severed head, distorted hump, decomposed cadaver and old age prosthetics.

Other projects in the works are a live theatrical production of FRANKENSTEIN which Phil will be directing this fall. It will be a Facades FX production with great SFX creatures and creations. More on this work as things develop.
Phil Nichols directs the cast at the first table reading of the script.
